This course empowers educators to integrate Work-Based Learning (WBL) into their curriculum, providing students with valuable real-world experiences that enhance learning and career readiness. Participants will explore the benefits of WBL, develop strategies for implementation, and gain practical skills for designing and managing successful work-based learning programs.

Course Objectives

  • Understand the core principles and benefits of Work-Based Learning in an educational setting.
  • Identify and adapt WBL models to fit diverse classroom needs and subject areas.
  • Develop effective strategies for engaging local businesses and community partners.
  • Design and implement meaningful work-based learning experiences aligned with curriculum standards.
  • Create and utilize engaging instructional materials to support student learning within WBL programs.
  • Facilitate collaborative partnerships between schools and workplaces.
  • Assess and evaluate the impact of WBL on student learning and development.
  • Reflect on best practices and share resources for ongoing WBL implementation.

a) Graduate-level PDE credit (University of North Dakota) cannot be used for master/degree programs of study. The grading type for this course is letter and/or satisfactory/unsatisfactory.

b) Noncredit/CEUs provide a record of completion (CEA)
